The Indian Army is inviting applications from unmarried male candidates for the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-53). Candidates must have completed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and have appeared in the JEE (Mains) 2024.

  • Selection Process: Application > Shortlisting > SSB > Medical > Merit List > Joining Letter
  • Cut-off Announcement: First week of December 2024
  • SSB Duration: Five days (January to March 2025)
  • Pre-Commission Training: Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
  • Training Duration: 4 years
  • Degree Awarded: Engineering Degree
  • Stipend during Training: ₹56,100 per month after 3 years
  • Rank upon Commissioning: Lieutenant
  • Salary on Commissioning: CTC approx. ₹17-18 lakh per annum

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen, subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin from specified countries with a government-issued eligibility certificate.
  2. Age Limit: Must be between 16½ and 19½ years old (born between 01 Jan 2006 and 01 Jan 2009).
  3. Educational Qualification: Minimum 60% marks in PCM from a recognized board and must have appeared for JEE (Mains) 2024.
  4. Medical Standards: Must meet specified medical standards.
  5. Legal Standing: Should not have been debarred from any UPSC examination or involved in criminal cases.

Vacancies

  • Total Vacancies: 90 (subject to change based on training capacity).

Training Details

  • Total Duration: 4 Years
    • Phase I: 3 years at CME Pune/MCTE Mhow/MCEME Secunderabad.
    • Phase II: 1 year at IMA Dehradun or designated PCTA.
  • Degree Awarded: Engineering degree upon completion.

Cost of Training

  • Training Cost: ₹13,940 per week (subject to change). The state bears this cost but may recover from candidates withdrawing for personal reasons.

Promotion Criteria

Promotions begin with automatic commissioning as a Lieutenant, progressing to Captain after two years, Major after six years, and further ranks based on time served and merit, ensuring a systematic progression.

Salary Structure

Officers’ salaries are competitive, with a Lieutenant earning ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 and a Captain earning ₹61,300 to ₹1,93,900. Promotions lead to significantly higher salaries, with Colonels earning ₹1,30,600 to ₹2,15,900. Additionally, all officers from Lieutenant to Brigadier receive a Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500 per month.

Additional Allowances

  • Children Education Allowance: ₹2,250 per month per child (two children).
  • Hostel Subsidy: ₹6,750 per month per child (two children).

Insurance and Disability Benefits

The Army Group Insurance Scheme provides coverage of ₹15 lakh for cadets, with additional support for disabilities, offering up to ₹25 lakh for 100% disability.

Leave Policies

Officers are entitled to leave as per established rules, contributing to a balanced work-life environment. Allowances and salary structures are periodically revised to ensure fair compensation.
